I have loved to draw and paint for as long as I can remember. I became a painter and sculptor in order to give creative form to what I experience in the world around me, primarily focusing on the figure and landscape. My work is a synthesis of the recognizable in a semi-abstract style— rich in color, colláge, found objects, dimension and texture. I am most challenged and feel most successful when my work illuminates injustice and environmental issues. My mixed media paintings and drawings are mosaics both in thought & process. This approach allows me to explore space and concepts taking artistic license to mix media as well as metaphor.
