PAPER PAINTINGS

The Paper Paintings involve a long process through which I first, paint on both sides of

several sheets of paper and, once dried, cut them into strips that are then interwoven into

irregular pieces. In this process of painting, cutting, and weaving, the randomness of

compositions is doubled, giving the art a unique organic presence similar to a

collage. By exposing the materiality of a painted surface on both sides, the compositions

utilize painting as a new medium and help the viewer see beyond the image.
