Here all the time
Here all the time is part of my powerful women series. She is definitely powerful and otherworldly, with lots of wonderful mixed media detail. There are layers of collage paper, alcohol ink, stencilling and journalling. The top layers are acrylic paint, ink and pencil with a hint of gold leaf. As you get closer you see more and more of the hidden details.. A statement piece for sure!

I love how you compare a big painting to a big novel. One does get lost in a big work of art, and it is a great feeling. Just like at the end of a good novel, finishing a work is like losing something and then you start a new work to recreate that feeling.

Exactly I feel the same way when a painting is complete as I do when I finish a good novel. Missing the world they put me in!
