Silvia Dowdell

I am a Massachusetts based artist working primarily in oil paint and various printmaking techniques. Through my work I explore the complex relationship between humans and the natural world. My narratives use a way of storytelling that feels like a childlike performance, similar to domestic folklore. My color world generates intense emotion. I seek to pull the viewer out of their comfortable environment and into a space where I ask them to be more vulnerable.
