This was made during the first couple months of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I kept seeing and reading about people on social media wanting to leave their homes, and trying to stay sane from being isolated, and not being able to go outside. Some people were making videos of themselves dancing, taking selfies with new hair styles, etc. all out of boredom but also to keep themselves mentally stable. The term "stir-crazy" refers to prisoners who become mentally unstable due isolation and lack of activity due to being confined in a space. The "stir" is another word for prison and the painting shows a woman imagining she is outside of her prison, but remains inside as her shadow from the flash camera is cast on the cloud filled prop behind her.
