With me, sometimes one painting leads to another. My previous painting was called, "No Wisdom In War" and featured three birds - a red tailed hawk, an owl and a dove perched on a barbed wire, set against a background of explosions.
I was not very optimistic about the way things have been going with the war in the MidEast as well as in Ukraine. But I like to think of myself as an optimist.
Perhaps you may not find optimism in this painting. After all, the earth is scorched with nothing in sight except this lone cherry blossom tree. Exactly how the tree got there and why it is flourishing remains a mystery.
But somehow, it is thriving in these conditions and it appears that multiple red-tailed hawks are somehow being drawn to the tree - perhaps to eat some of its small berries and spread the seeds for more growth - somewhere.
Hope springs eternal!
