Inert, transparent, uniformly placed objects can become austere, or menacing depending on the light and color. Here, with the light firmly behind, they look as though they are guarding something. Guardians of the Light? Hm. Well, Sentinels are usually staid, or stoic, and immovable from their posts, so...

These were captured in my traditional Oil on Birch Panel, gallery wrap style wood box, and painted black edges back to the wall, ready to hang. Details abound, bokeh doing its work with near-photographic depth of field. The orange adds that element of mystery, or romantic vision that indicates firelight, possibly, or the golden hour coming through a window above. The weight of the bottom of the picture almost makes it seem heavy, just to look at.

It is not, of course. My specially designed panels, made in my own shop, weigh in at about 6 oz. ea, at this size. Many layers of gesso and old-world style oil ground give the color it's depth. I learn more with every painting.

This would be great in a dining room, kitchen, or restaurant wall. Invokes a sense of "ready to serve you".
