Somnolite

Following the theme of water and bodies and reflections, this one is an offshoot of the considerably abundant entries in the art world of the Ophelia type. So my love of underwater models and the beauty of floating free easily fits in that category.

Created about the same time as my painting Undecided, with oil on a birch wood panel, and in "box kite" fashion, the black sides shearing off straight at the wall, sending the art into the room with as little intrusion as possible, and hanging perfectly flat. 24x32x2 in.

Somnolite: A person in the state of hypnotic sleep.
