Giant trees older than your imagination dripping in moss, a carpet of green leaves everywhere you look, mushrooms and plants that feel otherworldly. This is the old growth forest of the PNW. I started this painting while camping next to a river in an ancient forest. The wondrous Ghost Flower was in our campsite. It grows in mature forests and relies on a fungal network to connect it to a nearby tree in order to survive, because it has no chlorophyll and can't make its own food. The ghost flower is a beautiful example of how everything is connected in our universe.
