The Journeywork of the Stars
The title of this piece comes from "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman, and pretty much sums up how I feel about flowers and especially roses. They are so magical and meaningful to me, and it is such an honor and joy to paint them. This piece was created using mostly a brayer and palette knives which create lots of interesting textures. The surface has a very three-dimensional quality.
This piece was painted alla prima, using professional-quality oil paints and varnished to protect the surface. Each painting is carefully packaged for shipping and includes a personalized note from the artist.
