only a dream

Floating off to the place between sleep and dreams as the room begins to dissolve away. The lamp in the corner, the curtains and furniture becoming a memory. I wonder when the mice will show up? A kitty in her happy place!

This painting was a bit of a departure for me in how it was created. The first pass showed everything in the room rendered fully. I then brushed some away and went over the area with the sky color, but I wanted a 'ghost' of the original work to still be there. Then the clouds. Then where I wanted the break to occur from reality to dream. Covering up the original colors and linework was a bit nerve-wracking, but I'm pleased with the result. Enjoy!
