Magical Maui
An original palette knife oil painting of upcountry Maui. This view from Paia looks toward Kahoolawe which is painted with streaks of red lava interspersed with green foliage, waves lap the distant shore and gorgeously colored, towering clouds hang over the island.
The ocean is painted with a multitude of blue and green hues. In the foreground, the viewer feels like they are standing on the edge of a field with pink flowers and luminous green grass. Coconut palms sway in the wind adding to the light, breezy feeling of this painting.

Thank you Dennis! I lived in Hawaii for 21 years, some of my favorite views are the ones like this scene from way up on the side of a green hill overlooking the ocean and out to the next island. It's like 2 landscapes in 1, the view looking over the foreground landscape and then the seascape with the offshore island and clouds.
