Destiny I and Destiny II are both based on a dramatic performance piece called Maletumba II by the dance company Areytos Performance Work founded by Sita Frederick, where I participated as a principal dancer. Maletumba II is based on the desire and forbidden romance between a man and a woman and I translate their struggle using symbolic images to illustrate their separation.
