Love this one. That dry brushing cones off so soft. I feel like I can almost see the process in this work! Great colors!

Lynne Taetzsch’s Comedic Landscape’s delicate washes of soft colors culminate in a soothing and complex abstract composition. Deliberate but liberated mark-making, explosions of thick impasto, and richly painted passages of blue rise from the canvas. The intentionality and care of each brushstroke create a pleasingly balanced picture that is rich and intricate but does not overwhelm with either color or form. By choosing such a harmonious palette and leaving ample space around each shape, Taetzsch makes the forms rhyme without clashing. One could very easily argue Comedic Landscape is an entirely abstract work with little to no reference to the material world. However, there is something aquatic and organic about the gestures of acrylic: a disassembled day at the beach.
