Thandolwenkosi Moyo

My name is Rita Moyo. I am a 22 year old artist hailing from Bulawayo and currently residing in Florence, South Carolina. My journey with art is rather typical, I started drawing when I was a child with a fascination for conjuring up images from my childlike imagination. That fascination never subsided as I have been creating art ever since. My inspirations are many but my biggest source of inspiration comes from the media I consume, namely movies and music videos. I work with a range of mediums, including Oil paint, gouache, watercolor and charcoal. My subject matter is often figurative, i draw inspiration from my many lived experiences and interpret how they feel on paper or canvas and that results in varying images that create a portrait of my identity as an artist and a woman.
