Coastal

The expansive nature of the ocean with its reflections of the sky during calm times and the strength of its waves during powerful storms has always attracted photographers and painters. Artists travel a distances to find the most beautiful coastal scenes. The ocean has always attracted humans. The waves are an attempt of an artist to capture a fleeting, beautiful and one-of-a-kind moment.

Surfers flock to encounter the most dangerous and tallest waves and with unlimited and fearless disposition swim to ride them. The ocean covers almost 3/4 of the world's surface and the possibilities are endless when attempting to depict the seaside. A coastal scene has served as a great source of inspiration for many artists. The ocean and its waves are a popular destination for artists when studying color, light, and movement.

Whether an abstract or representational artists, the ocean has inspired many artists and has allowed them to create new sensations, and wonders. It is in capturing the waves or a calming ocean that artists transmit their emotions with mark making.
