Nancy Wyllie

Nancy Wyllie

Nancy Wyllie is a professional artist who holds Masters degrees from RISD and Tulane University. Trained as a painter in the classical tradition, her studio practice has shifted from realism to abstraction. Her seascapes represent an effort to bring a three dimensional quality to her interpretation of marine life in Rhode Island where she maintains a studio, the Caribbean and Central America. This body go work seeks to capture the ever-changing play of light and movement on the ocean surface and in its depths. Wyllie has taught studio and digital art courses at Ithaca college, RISD, Vermont College of Norwich University and CCRI. She is currently a full time studio artist.

You have brought Hopper into the 21st century.

Truly masterful painting of a lost America on a bright sunny day.

A stunningly complex and thought provoking painting that slurs fact and fiction. Three mad dogs and, for me, a reference to a crown of thorns provides yet another layer of menace and mystery
