I paint, I explore, I'm not sure what else. Anything to slow the days down a bit.

My work is always about a good narrative and finding a sense of self in this large and mostly empty setting. The Midwest, a nice river, and a few friends are all that I need.

Natalie, your work always has such a clarity to it. From the crisp edges of the books marked and stacked to the side of the bed, all the way across to the gentle tufts on the pillow. The inspiration of the 00's is present, in that "Lampshade Halo" focuses on a small slice of life and remains accessible, but you allow the composition to become complex and personal. There is a clarity of language, the colors all resonate in a soft glow that emanates and encompasses the room in a familiar light, and the subtle narrative gives a real presences to your work. Old Style and a banana is an iconic midwestern delicacy don'cha'know? Beautiful and inspiring work as always.
