José Luis Bomfim
José Luis Ponciano Bomfim (Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil, 1981) works and lives in Talavera de la Reina, Spain.
Gradued in Visual Arts at the University of Campinas in 2006, he holds a master's degree in Culture of Unity from the Sophia University Institute (Florence, Italy) with a thesis on the work of Giotto and the Franciscan charism (2011).
He began creating works in traditional media that established a dialogue between modern expressionism and the heritage of the Italian renaissance. His recent production works with the ambiguities of memory and information by incorporating digital resources (videos, 3D modelling, programming, etc.) into paintings and drawings.
Together with the group of artists LabCA (Laboratory of Art and Communion) he has exhibited in Terrassa during the months of March and April 2019 the work "Traído (por el viento)", created in communion with the artists Susana Arce, Fernando Sordo and Ignacio Llamas. Also with the group LabCA he has exhibited in 2017 in Toledo the installation "Todos los santos".
In Brazil he has participated in the free atelier of engraving at the Lasar Segall Museum (2015), and has exhibited at the Gaia (Gallery of the Institute of Arts) in 2006, at the gallery of the Bankers Union (2006) and at the Feia (Festival of the Institute of Arts of the Unicamp) in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
