Emily Roynesdal

Emily Roynesdal received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Drake University in August of 2000, developing technique in both two- and three-dimensional work.  Emily’s conceptual focus has been greatly influenced by her fascination with human behavior and the manner in which she receives information.  Her work has largely focused on the figure in personal and public spaces, layering images to portray the complexity of human interaction over time.  More recent images have expanded stylistically to display movement and abstraction.  Emily has been a working artist in Chicago and New York.  She recently completed a residency at the Boulder Creative Collective and currently has a studio in Denver.
