Cassandra Minott is a Canadian born Jamaican artist . Raised deep within the Caribbean traditions of family centrism, she was often lost in the individualistic manners of mainstream society in the Global North. Without hesitation she reverted into art fostering a style founded in nature identity and finally the full love of self granted by artistic meditation. Consequently, creating her own roots to her culture through food, sound, writing and visual art.

As I continue to grow art serves as records to checkpoint my impossible obstacles. As a young first generation of immigrant parents the majority of my life has been caught between the expectations of my parents, the authenticity of my cultural intake and finding place among my peers. Finding myself has always been secondary to seeking moments of relative peace. Currently my motivation is to capture my past dilemmas through the details of texture, satire and symbolism.

Nothing to see here... yet.
