Amartei`

I am Amartei Amarteifio, a sculptor from Accra, Ghana. I use my imagination coupled with a technical background in mechanical engineering to build artistic mirror sculptures, representing ideas across several themes. My method of art expression involves the incorporation of moving parts, lasers as well as glass to convey a message. Each mirror I build serves as a symbol to ridicule vanity, as I observe that whenever a viewer stands before the mirror, their attention gets shifted from their reflection to the mirror itself. I love the thrill of new ideas and experimentation, and seek to invent new forms of sculpture, telling the African story through lines, patterns and texture.
