Alex Marks

Alexander J Marks (Canadian/American, b.1978) is a contemporary artist whose style fuses a range of influences, from drawing and photography to Romanticism and Abstract Expressionism. Born in Toronto, Marks majored in fine arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Working from studies, sketches, and photographs, Marks paints figures and landscapes, with an expressive use of color and technique that evokes a dream-like or haunting quality.
