The inspiration for this painting came from a late morning walk at the end of Pleasure Island near my home. There are a lot of cedar trees in the area. I was reminded of one of Monet's paintings, called "Wild Poppies," that appears to have similar trees along the horizon line. It's a very simple composition, painted in monochromatic green; I attempted to create interest by adding little spots of color while allowing some of the green underpainting to show through.
It is a one-of-a-kind acrylic painting.
