Boy Blue

This Red-tail Black Cockatoo was my third bird to draw in color. It captured my attention simply because of the design and contrast of the deep blue color and golden dots and strips of feathers. Although this was a relatively small piece, it took me hours upon hours to achieve the proper blend of and vibrance of colors to achieve the realism, depth and detail. The composition is perfect and highlights the beautiful design of this magnificent bird.
