I'm Over Here

The image depicts a UFO in the traditional American media sense, disc-like with a blue dome, shining a beam of light down to the bottom of the canvas.  This work is really rather concrete in comparison to Fuchs’ other works. Where she nowadays steps into abstract expressionism, here she squarely plants herself in solid space, literally. I personally like this one more.

This spaceship sits right in the center of the canvas, slicing through through the deep blue night, and my goodness does it deserve to be there! I’m Over Here is a playful title for getting sucked up by aliens. The eagerness shows in the bright color palette. And there’s even a golden halo over the dome, pressed right between the pink sky and the blue moon. The whole work feels like an childlike adventure, an accidental discovery in the making.

Is there a strong pull to know the celestial sea and everything that lives within it? Certainly. Will you follow it? Let those extraterrestrial beings know you’re over here.
