Part of a series of works I made between 2011-2014/2015, that I called Imaginary Spaces, comprising of the female nude/s in relation to spaces both internal & external as in landscape/s, and further in a fundamental dialogue with the Artist as Maker. In Red Sun, as the process of painting took its course, an image emerged of a primordial female architype on a billboard reminiscent perhaps of the caves of Lascaux, yet in a an urban setting, where the Artist/Maker resides on the fringes of a metropolis amidst the cacophony of unbending, unrelenting geometric forms of an almost unpoetic cityscape.
