Climb My Way Out
This piece was a four month endeavor of confusion, frustration, creative block, one idea to another… just a lot. Once I finally drew inspiration for a general idea I narrowed it down to climbing way out of situation after situation that I put myself in pretty much my whole life. The only difference from 27 to now, 34, is that I moved to California with $1,200 and a suitcase at 27 and made the choice to get sober and get my life together.
The shapes on the face represent situations and issues in my life throughout those times, the depth added to those represent the depth of the issues I experienced, the dimensions represent the different perspectives I had and the abstract blended mess on different parts of the arms represent how far I would dig myself into these problems and situations before making a decision to get into action and climb my way out.
Here’s to better decisions and self love.
