Intuitive
This piece is special for so many reasons. To start it’s my first truly large scale piece at 5’W x 6’H and besides the idea of making one of my faces, it was entirely created from intuition.
I wanted something more specific when I started and hated how that went so I decided abstract and just made a mess. Over the next week it transformed into this; a variety of mixed emotions, music trigger inspiration, encounters with my friends, meditating excessively, journaling and just being present in my moments of creativity. I’m really starting to learn that most of painting is being present and enjoying the process, not necessarily the end result.

I am on your wavelength Tony, when it comes to "entirely from intuition". I'm doing the same thing on a piece right now. Not the first time, but really the first time I'm doing a larger piece completely without any reference except my imagination. And yes, during the process it has transformed. Good thinking.
