A Woman's Roar

$4,000.00

After arguing with my parents about my gender identity, I decided to make a monumental painting depicting myself as a woman. In Korean, "어흥" is a onomatopoetic word meaning a tiger's roar. She is seated and modestly covering her body, but she is letting her presence known through her fearsome gaze and sounds.

The painting is 2-piece, each 40 x 30 inches. The colors, especially the red's in the shadows do not go toward vibrant crimson, but rather they are deep earthen reds, when seen in real life. (The painting looks better in real life than in photos).
