Palo Duro Canyon, Left Side
Okay, I am not ready to sell this piece but I still want to share it with everyone.
This painting was based off a photo my father-in-law took when he took his Route 66 road trip across the United States. They visited Palo Duro Canyon in Texas and he took some great photographs of the plateaus. I just love the Mid-West United States. All the reds, browns, brown-reds are just beautiful. Reds, red-browns, and browns are really grounding for me. They mean stability, strength. I find the Mid-Western United States landscapes really show this off. They strength that the rock formations endure with all the erosion and tough weather conditions. If any living creature (plant or animal) is going to live there, you really have to be tough to survive out there. I mean, you have to be pretty stable not the topple over there in desert.
