Eggs are a subject that I return to again and again, especially since I often recommend them to my students as a painting exercise. However, I also find them to be really beautiful, poetic forms that I truly enjoy painting. I find that simple objects like this require more thoughtfulness and creativity to paint than many other subjects. How do you make something so ordinary look beautiful? The egg becomes a vehicle to play with color, paint application, and composition. The opportunities are endless.
