Ethereal Ascent

Conceptualised through mindful wandering, this painting describes the journey of a soul. An immortal, yet fleeting ascent through the ethereal plane.

There's a tension we all share in respect to the idea of 'souls', something part of us, yet not tied to mortal flesh. A balance of macabre doubt and hope for the mysterious unknown. Thus I have rendered this fraught tension in the fluid relationship, and recognition between the figures, who's forms are found, yet seamless as swirls of light transcribe the souls journey between them.
