Inheritance

A large indigenously built drum, supported by two delicate and fraying ropes, has the planet earth as a drum skin. The weather on the planet is not pleasant - a large hurricane threatens one coast while smoke form a massive blaze makes its way into the jet stream from the other. In the foreground, a disconsolate young Black person stands in the shadow of a bulldozer, which is plowing away what's left of a forest, while belching pollution into what was once a pretty sunset. The land upon which the young man stands is a parched desert. In the dark distance, a tank rolls across an extremely tipped horizon. Is this the legacy we are leaving for the future?
