Protecting Patience

Most parents experience how protective they become when it comes to their children. Protecting the unborn especially is precious. This piece is about my personal journey as a mother, and patience is only the very beginning of that journey. By keeping your own patience in check is by virtue protecting your child. Peacocks are exceptionally protective, and can be quite aggressive if threats are presented. The vision of a peacock came to me, and therefore, I began painting a peacock. One vision led to another and a pregnant woman filled the canvas. I was practicing patience to see what this painting would reveal. It wasn't until several years later that I realized what this painting is telling me about my circumstances as a parent.
