When I worked on this large work on paper, I was thinking of stormy winter weather in Northern California where I am currently living. Strong winds unexpectedly stir up tree branches and other vegetation into foggy swirls. The motion and muted atmosphere are conveyed in this piece through the colors and brush marks.
