bearded irises from "Still Life Finger exercises"

I saw these on a walk in the late spring of 2021. Then I saw them again, and again: bearded irises were popular! They reminded me of my youth in Japan, and the lovely garden of the empress in meiji jingu-mae. How time passes... and here I am in the Great North. So I painted them, on a little canvas, inside a home, inside of my heart..
