Timothy Craig's Neo-Expressionist-inspired Light illuminates everything it encounters. The fuchsia and neon colors have a 1980s flair that is further accentuated by the stark black background on which they rest. The present work echoes Jean-Michel Basquiat (in this writer’s opinion, the greatest Neo-Expressionist) but does not mimic him. Instead, Craig charts his artistic path while paying homage to the Neo-Expressionist master. Passages of brilliant color are offset by brilliantly rendered instances of activated white and deeply engaging black. The pink triangle is ripe with historical references and constitutes the picture's focal point. Craig leaves the work open to interpretation so that each viewer can find their own meaning in its mysterious narrative. A truly expressionistic and masterful painting.

I absolutely love your painting! It is so vibrant and full of layers and colours. As an artist I find it very inspiring, the marks you've made are full of movement, its like you've captured a dance between the paint brush and canvas.
