Since working with playwright August Wilson I have been obsessed with the mythical figure of Aunt Ester, who I see thriving in many forms and many people. This piece celebrates Aunt Ester and all the survivors of the Middle Passage.
The frame is embedded in the work. There is no separation between image, art, and frame.
Dimensions and weight are approximate. I'll update this eventually. Or just ask.
