Horses in Red
I find the theme and motif from the natural world and from the scene of the horse family gathering inspired to paint. Seeing the peaceful scene I try to express them with my passion and create them simple yet bold.

The measurements don’t quite add up. Assuming it’s 25x30”, what is the 12”? Unless it’s a box?

Or if it is 30x12” (I see how rectangular it is, apologies), what’s the 25” related to?

Hello Emma, Thanks for letting me know the dimension. My mistake and I just correct it 25 to 2.5 inches in canvas thickness. The painting size is 12(h)x30(w)x2.5(d)

Color is inescapable in life, and life is inescapable in art. There is intense beauty in an overwhelming panoply of colors. A kaleidoscopic display of hues can draw a viewer in with its explosive tonal extremity. However, as evidenced in kyungsoo lee’s Horses in Red, a more focused tonal approach can be as (if not more) rewarding. Horses in Red contains substantial passages of blues, greens, and whites, but these colors (despite being masterfully mixed and deeply intriguing in their own right) are backup singers to the rouge main act. They constitute substantial painterly excursions but primarily act as visual devices to enhance and accentuate the predominant red palette. I usually get into some musings about figuration versus abstractions at this point in the critique, but Horses in Red is too tonally captivating to dwell on form.
