What does mean Love? People love people who are similar to themselves. However, sometimes feelings for oneself and others are also of interest. Filling in one's own shortcomings is also the essence of Love. Thinking of the meaning of love, this painting was made into work associated with colors. The combination of complementary colors feels a bit provocative, but when it is harmonized, it becomes the best beauty.

John, Thank you for the critique! You nailed it and I used many paint layers for the depth and added pastels to create the work. It was fun and I enjoyed the progress. However, it came from my unconscious mind and instinct.

kyungsoo lee’s Flame of Love is a furiously harmonious, expertly wrought, and tonally rich painting that beautifully showcases the soft power of pastel paint. Blazing tendrils of pigment lap up the canvas in a kaleidoscopic display of purples, blacks, yellows, greens, and whites. The lavish display of colors and their fiery appearance conjure up a powerful sense of passion that would overwhelm had lee stuck only to bright acrylic. Without the intervention of the softer pastel hues, the density and tonal complexity would prevent the viewer from fully engaging with the work. However, lee does not fall into this trap, and Flame of Love is a perfectly balanced ode to passion.
