Back at the beginning of 2021 I was getting more familiar with the works of Richard Diebenkorn. I was reading articles and watching documentaries, I was very much enthralled with phases of work, including of course, the Ocean Park paintings. One night I had a dream in which I was invited to his studio to watch him work. I sat on a bench in the background and made not a sound as he concentrated. I remember the piece he was working on ad several angles and color fields and it seeped into my subconscious. The next morning when I woke I was highly motivated to get out in the studio/garage and start creating. The result was this painting appropriately titled, “In A Dream About Diebenkorn”.
