Hi John,

Yes, color, and dynamic rhythm are what I want to express in this painting. Thank you so much for such precise criticism.

Best,

Fong Fai

Expressed in a lively flurry of enigmatically colored brushstrokes, fong Fai’s Tune of the season is a wonderfully haptic and enlivening composition. Fai creates a special kind of three-dimensional magic in the upper left-hand side of the picture. The paint bursts forth from the canvas not just by virtue of its thick impasto but also by the intricacy of each brushstroke’s palette combined with a painterly sleight of hand that adds dynamic and deceptively fluctuating energy.

An undeniable sense of movement in Tune of the season recalls change and time. The many colors of the season intermixed with tonal reminiscences of its counterparts culminate in wave-like brushstrokes that break across the painting’s surface.
