I did this piece in a way that really makes you think. I wanted to challenge how things are presented or how people perceive things should be presented.

For example, instead of making another ear, I wrote out ear where it would be. Instead of a neat brain and colored in backdrop behind it, I left it wide open and filled it in with pastels and oil stick.

Typically when I make something I don’t love, people tend to really love it. However, in this case I am in love with how much it challenges basic thinking and peoples idea of how things are supposed to look.

I actively am practicing not judging or labeling things, people, places, etc. in my mind. For me, this expresses that.
