Assign your own story to this 12x16 Oil painting on conventional canvas. Fill in the blank. It is a study in emotional state as much as my own attempted breakaway from my usual style of realism, and also the wood panel. I favor the wood panel for a lot of reasons, however, for this style canvas works very well. I do love this however for the psychological impact of the image, the "motion", and the immediacy. Also, you can try turning this image for different effects.

The 2 largest differences is that it takes 3X the amount of paint to work on canvas, for me in any case...and also the heavy work-ability and thickness of the paint almost demands that one utilize paint and brush only, and not the same kind of blending as on the smooth surface of wood (or metal, which I'm going to attempt to work on soon, now that there is that medium available to us). One more thing....it's going to take a week to dry.

I did this in about 2 hours, starting out with a completely blank canvas, white, and because I bought some new paint, I started with Cad. yel, French Ultramarine, Alzarin Crimson, and white, no black allowed. But I did make sure that no canvas was showing when finished.
