A day at the movies in Ventura, CA, watching the people more than the movie.
I find myself always taking note of the particular roles of each person I see wherever I go and how people's expressions change or respond to each other based on those roles. A man in movie theater uniform sweeps up popcorn in a sort of melancholy posture and someone peaks over at him to watch, while another family continues without notice on their own outing. What might he be thinking in this moment? Does he enjoy what he does? Maybe I should have taken the time to ask.
