Spirits Of The Baobab

Baobabs are long-lived deciduous, small to large trees with broad trunks and compact crowns. Young trees usually have slender, tapering trunks, often with a swollen base. In Africa, it is believed that the spirits that live there makes it the tree of life. The tar used in this painting signifies the earth where all emanates from and returns to in death.
