Beneath Its Lay

A painting that has the quality of an airy lightness and a heaviness imposed by dense structure. The title is something of a play with syntactic ambiguity which is fitting for the painting’s content. I see it as being one of the more literal paintings of a body of work, spanning the last three years or so, insofar that it can more readily communicate a message.
