An Interesting Road
The idea for the artwork comes from the quote by Khalil Gibran: "Tortoises can tell you more about the road than the hares."

A very intriguing piece that allows one to explore. The colors, lines, depth, and shape stopped me from scrolling to really take in the visuals. Well done, no of my favorites I’ve seen on this site.

I love the quote, and the piece is a very cool rendition of Gibran's statement.

Bruce Faulkner’s An Interesting Road is a beautiful and intriguing sculpture that pulls together a disparate patchwork of elements into a curious and engaging whole. An Interesting Road is aptly titled as it is a winding and labyrinthine road through various artistic media, the intersection of painting and sculpture, and figuration versus abstraction. Its bent, stretched, woven, and painted surface (or, more appropriately, surfaces) are rich in detail and wildly varied yet harmonious. Upon first glance (for me, at least, but perhaps someone more familiar with tortoises would have made the obvious connection sooner), An Interesting Road was too aesthetically complex and engaging to register it as relating to a specific organic form. However, the hard-shelled inspiration for the work begins to emerge as the viewer regains some control of their visual understanding from the grasp of this forever interesting sculpture.
