The exhilaration of acting dangerously. Choose the life you want to live and make it happen. Let go of fear and dive through any uncertainty, doubt, and trepidation that may be holding you back. You owe it to yourself.

Enigmatic washes of activated white and grey paint compliment cosmic passages of orange and red, surrounded by a deep and impenetrable black shroud of oil paint, Kym Balthazar Fetsko’s Swimming in the Lightning is a profoundly engaging exercise in abstraction. There is something celestial about the picture; the comingling of the pigment and the way the colors and forms blend into each other is reminiscent of nebulae, the kaleidoscopic interstellar clouds that make their diffused way across the solar system. The composition is made so mysterious by Fetsko’s mastery of color and the combinations and tonal complexities found within them. Swimming in the Lightning is impenetrable in the best way possible. It does not give away its meaning but pulls the viewer in, engulfs them in pure aesthetic reverie, and provides experience, not understanding—a genuinely magical painting.
